BioI wonder what Rimmer of Red Dwarf would think of the current net conception of friend: To his shipmates he once very charitably commented that "I have come to think of you... as people I knew".
I have been on LJ for a while now and have only just now decided to 'friend' others. For a long time the whole concept of redefining "friend" as "someone who wishes to look at my posts" perturbed me a bit. My solution was simply to never friend anyone and just let other friend me (besides which I have never to date done locked posts). But then I got onto Facebook and with the necessity of confirming friend requests there I now have a more relaxed take on it here. So I will start by friending those who have friended me as of the date of editing this text...
